Solutions in regards my ngohebir with a vicious dog on the fenceline?I was riding on our property yesterday, and the ngohebirs pitt bull-type dog ran up the fenceline(which by the way is on our property, ngohebir's mistake/his fence) growling, barking, snapping his teeth violently. He did this while the horse's back was turned, and the horse bolted. Horse had on a snaffle bit, and was totally caught up in the moment I intentionally bailed in soft sand to avoid a wreck.I walked the horse up to the fence and the dog was still going at it. If he could have jumped the four foot fence I have no doubt he would have tried to kill either the horse, or me.Anyone here have a similar experience? What did you do?I'm inclined to consider legal options, and all helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Please don't suggest I talk to this guy, because everytime I've tried, he seems to have his head stuck up his nether region !Wellllll . some very interesting answers and suggestions, ya'll. Turns out our local county code has been doing it's ceaseless job like rust, it never sleeps! There shall be in this County a three level classificationof dogs and other potentially dangerous animals:1) Threatening Animals”, 2) “Dangerous Animals” and 3) “Vicious Animals”.Threatening Animal (1) Definition: A Threatening Animal is one that has done any of the following: (ii) When unprovoked, has chased or approached a person, on or off the owner’s or keeper’s property, upon the streets, sidewalks or any public grounds in a menacing fashion or apparent attitude of attack, provided that such actions are attested to in a sworn statement by one or more persons, or observed by an Animal Control Officer. (It goes on, but this is the relevant info, I believe.)Having this designation it must be exercised in the owner's sight (fence is hidden by bushes).3 infractions = vicious confiscated/destroyed
